Spike Lee uses KICKSTARTER. Independent filmmaker Spike Lee decides to use crowd funding online via KICKSTARTER. At this given moment, Spike Lee is half way to his goal, so his supporters are definitely backing him! He is also receiving backlash from the media and others. Spike Lee's defense is that he always raised funds as an independent filmmaker and this is just a new platform, that brings more exposure to the product and a more feasible way to collect money.
